Last week I said goodbye to someone that I didn’t get to know as well as I wanted to.
We met a bit too late… but at least we met.

Pierre is a French guy, also a biotech researcher in space things.
A person who was working here for a year and that, after some holidays in the Greek sea, decided to quit his job and be a diving instructor for a while.

And well, after an occasional meeting in bus number 32 via ESTEC, a Toga party and some beers and coffees here and there, the goodbye was a mixture of a ‘Shit!’ with a ‘Good to have known you mate!’.

So, now I feel a bit nostalgic for the friendship that we didn’t get to live long enough, for the few moments of laughs, people and conversations spent together, for the promises of meetings in Greece, Lisbon or even Paris.

A kiss in the cheek, a hug of good luck.
An ‘enjoy a lot Pierre’ is said, a ‘See you later Inês’ is heard… and that’s it, and it’s all that!

Na semana passada tive uma despedida de uma pessoa que não cheguei bem a conhecer. Descobrimo-nos tarde... mas descobrimo-nos, ao menos.

O Pierre é Francês, biólogo em coisas do espaço também.
Uma pessoa que esteve aqui a trabalhar durante um ano e que, depois de umas férias na Grécia e muito mar, decidiu terminar o contracto e ser instrutor de mergulhos, assim por uns tempos.

E pronto, depois de um encontro não combinado no autocarro 32 via ESTEC, de uma festa Grega de Togas e de umas cervejas e cafés aqui e ali, a despedida foi uma mistura de um ‘Eh pah… merde!’ com um ‘Foi fixe ter-te conhecido pah!’.

Por isso agora sinto-me nostálgica pela amizade que não se chegou bem a viver, pelas poucas vivências, pessoas e conversas, pelas promessas de encontros na Grécia, Lisboa ou até Paris.

Dá-se um beijo na cara, um abraço de boa sorte.
Diz-se um 'Até um dia Pierre!', ouve-se um 'Até Inês!'... e pronto é só isto, é tudo isto!
