golden cage

as I already said before, normally I don't like to do more than one post each day (besides the birthday posts)!

(stupid things in me that I can not explain!)

However today I just couldn't avoid it... not after hearing the music and watching the movie below:

the whitest boy alive - golden cage

...and another version of the same one!

...white and from kings of convenience!

=)

ps - tomaz... u are my hero! =p

watching a very very very disgusting movie... =/

it isn't on the u tube (and I can understand why!!!)!
the only thing that you can see on the utube is people's reactions to it! (like mine)

but its funny seeing pietro watching the movie very happy and smiling!!!

How can you be so happy watching that CRAP pietro? how?

but well... since you are a good hairdresser (the movie below proves it), I forgive you!!!

=p

ps - to the ones that don't understand the "Ireland" thing in the movie above: pietro has a very curly and red hair, so that's why everyone thinks he is irish and not italian!
Regarding the movie that they talk about... well, if you read this post from the beginning, you can imagine which movie is! argh...

pa magali...

hoje é ao contrário!!! =)

parabéns coisinha***

ps - saudades destes dias interrailinenses, saudades de ti... =)

today I finally concluded that I AM ADDICTED TO BOOTS !!!
And well, if I already have a BIG collection in Portugal, I now also have a few more dutch boots!
the main advantage (and maybe the only one) is that the boots boxes I get are very useful to put my things inside and make my room seem more organized =)

I also enjoy (a lot!) earrings, but those don't give me any boxes! =(

ah, and I also discovered today that I like to see men that dress jeans with a suit coat, a shirt and merrell footwear! haha

Things that I dont like but that, unfortunately, have been my great companions lately are articles and more articles, this and also this:

welll... (parte II)

the continuation...

Protocol to at least go to your work without walking or paying for a bus ticket: =p

1. If the tire really is flat, then AVOID RIDING THE BIKE before u fix it.
2. If you did it anyway (dahhh...) and the inner tube of the tire got completely screwed, then buy a new inner tube.
3. If the inner tube is too expensive and is not worth buying, regarding that you will go away (snif snif) in a short time and wont need the bike anymore, then put air in the tire every morning (if u don't have a pump, then go to the nearest friend that has it) and afternoon (with the pump of your work's building).
4. If every morning you are too lazy to go to your friend's house to put air in the tire, then go to your work with your tire flat... (it's a stupid thing to do but is better then walking for 20 min.)
5. If your bike starts to make really strange noises (and really loud too) in the morning because of the flat tire, then try to get one borrowed bike.
6. if the only borrowed bike that u can get is even bigger than you, then don't sit, ride the bike while standing and arrive at your work sweating out of every pore.
7. In the end of the day go back home and, by the time you arrive (sweating out of every pore), try to relax OKKKK?

here is a sugestion:

For erasmus students it's very difficult to meet local people. Since locals are in their own country, it's quite normal that they prefer to be with their family and friends. Besides, the living spirit is different.
Well... I am a bit different because I am not exactly a student. I am a trainee (I WORK!) and that allows me to meet dutch people (the ones that work in my lab).
I particularly like the cleaning lady... she is so so so nice and is always smiling, laughing and speaking with everyone.
She doesn't know any english and only knows a little bit of bad spanish (really really a little bit and very very bad...).
Since my dutch does not exist, the only words that we exchange are:

me: cansada, cansada!

her: mutcho trabaho, pouco dinhêro!

lol

...

now that I have already ended my lab work, instead of being an expert on burning cotton, I am improving myself on doing it with my bags... and I think I have a promising future!
just observe the detail of the burnt curve in the tissue... it's PERFECT:

Friday, 29 February 2008

Today is my last day inside the laboratory! next will be me, my office (probably (almost certain) my room also) and writting... and writting... and writting!
Of course that yesterday I had to burn a cotton... of course!!! grrr...

It's strange because I am not feeling the "goodbye thing"...
maybe because I will still be here in my office (which is not only mine =p) writting for the next couple of weeks.... or maybe because I only start missing something after it has ended...

anyway, now it's still morning and a long mutagenesis experiment waits for me...

ah, and I also have a flat tire! (other grrr...)

off I go!

A while ago me and Manel had a tiny little problem with a subject's grade: because of the new bolonha system, this subject stopped existing. Thus, it was decided that it's grade would be published as the grade of a new subject in our course.
So far so well, wasn't it I see the end of the semester arriving, the grades of the rest of the people being published and mine and manel's grades being let behind.

Since the email is our friend:

from me to the teacher:

Dear professor,

My name is Inês Antunes, nr. 51810, and I would like to ask you how it is my situation with the EBI-I grade, since I am one of the students which EBI-I's grade should be the one of ISIS's subject?
I am now doing my formal training in Delft, so it hasn't been possible to follow this process so well as I wanted to.
Thank you for your attention.
kind regards,
Inês

From her to me:

Hello Inês
thank you for reminding me about your grade. According to professor's Raquel instructions, your ISIS's grade will be published as EBI-I's grade.
Good internship.

Supposedly from me to Manel:

Manolo, the teacher forgot about us. Here is her answer, but I only reminded her about me. However, I think that reminding her about me, I also remind about you.
Anyway, here is the email I sent to her, in case that you wanna use it. =)
kiss kiss and good luck with your monography***

From her to me:

Inês
You have sent me this email by mistake, but your colleague's situation is the same as yours, i.e., he will have the ISIS's grade in EBI-I.

From me (a little bit (a lot!) worried) again to her:

Dear professor,
Sorry for the mistake.
Good afternoon,
Inês

from her again to me:

well, some times it happens but this one wasn't so serious.
Good work.
---------------

I don't know what did she mean with the "this one wasn't so serious". But I was lucky because I even like the teacher and, thus, it wasn't any 'bitch" in the email or some #$%#$^$ about the fact of she had forgotten us. Maybe it was that what she meant with the "this one wasn't so serious". =p

Monday, 25 February 2008

welll...

Protocol to detect if a bike's pipe works properly:

1. Open the bike's lock.
2. If it's cold outside, take the bike inside the building.
3. look for the air pump of the building in order to fill the flat tire with air.
4. If you don't find the air pump, then look for someone who might have a tire pump.
5. If nobody can help you, then go back to the place where the pump should be and look better.
6. If you finally find the pump, than fill the tire with air.
7. Dive the tire in a bucket with water in order to see if any air comes out of the pipe.
8. If the tire does not fit into the bucket and you don't feel like taking out the tire of the bike only to see if the pipe works, than take the bike to the nearest canal.
9. Dive the tire into the water, as shown in the picture:

10. If there is no bubbles coming out of the pipe, then it is OK.
note: If it's too dark to see the bubbles properly, then believe in your own instinct.

Protocol to fix a possible hole in a tire's bike (in case of the pipe is OK):

1. Turn the bike upside down.
2. Put a girl with laboratory gloves holding the bike, as shown in the picture:

3. Try to take out the tire, in order to dive it into a bucket with water (the same of the previous protocol) and look for bubbles (they indicate a hole).

note: By now is already night and dark outside, so the canal is not an option, neither your instinct.

4. In case of the nut doesn't rotate because it's STUPID, OLD and RUSTY (grrrr...), then try harder.
5. If it still doesn't rotate, then think a little bit about the issue.
6. Meanwhile, if you realise that the tire, after being filled up with air because of the pipe's test, still seems OK and filled, then think that maybe the tire was only without air, but healthy.
7. Say to the bike's owner (the girl with the lab gloves) to ride on the bike for a couple of days and see if in fact THAT CRAP has a hole.

to be continued...
